Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead process optimization and production efficiency initiatives within our electronic component manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring significant expertise in lean manufacturing, work-cell layout design, electrical testing, as well as basic assembly procedures. This is a hands-on technical role with a strong focus on manufacturing process development, improving throughput, product quality, and manufacturing cost-effectiveness.

The Opportunity

As our Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be the driving force behind:

  • Innovating in wire-wound electrical component manufacturing and build-to-print process development.
  • Leading lean manufacturing initiatives that directly impact efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Optimizing work cell layouts to unlock new levels of performance and ergonomics.
  • Implementing and overseeing assembly procedures that keep us ahead of industry standards.
  • New process development and capital investment recommendations as process capabilities expand.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working in AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements
  • Lean manufacturing / Six-Sigma training
  • Mechanical aptitude including equipment set up and maintenance.
  • Experience with electrical testing of components and assemblies
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and inspection methods
  • Proficient with solid modeling software (Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, NX, Catia) and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and solution evaluation skills
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, internally and externally.
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Independent starter with high self-motivation and self-management capabilities
  • Excellent prioritization and project development / management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build and maintain productive work relationships.
  • Skilled at Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Basic project scheduling skills and experience with scheduling software
  • Ability to accept and adapt to changing internal and external customer requirements.
  • Must be a US Person as defined by ITAR.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing with 5 years’ working with related products and/or processes.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing leadership or supervisory roles preferred.

Work Environment

This role requires both office and hands-on shop floor presence. You will work with standard office tools (computers, phones, etc.) as well as various manufacturing, machining, electrical test and inspection equipment. Occasional travel between nearby facilities (within 1 mile) may be required.

Job Title: Production Operating Technician

Reports to: Production Supervisors

Position Type: Non-Exempt

Since 1969 Able Coil & Electronics has manufactured precision-wound coils, toroids, transformers, solenoids, cable and connector harnesses, and many other electrical assemblies.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for operating winding machines, winding products by hand, and performing part assembly functions to achieve production and quality standards consistent with manufacturing goals and objectives in the most efficient, effective, and sustainable manner. Must be able to work Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, overtime as needed

Hours: Monday- Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Include, but not limited to: ·

  • Complete steps assigned toward finishing the electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Follow procedures as presented by Supervisor and on an iPad · Review of your own work to ensure consistent and quality results and standards
  • Meeting production output and quality targets.
  • Frequent communication on job progress
  • Execute to the Quality Management System
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Department Lead or Supervisor

  • Previous manufacturing experience with small assemblies, preferred
  • Ability to read design drawings, and use a microscope, preferred
  • Previous experience with Electro-mechanical assemblies, preferred
  • Solder Certified, familiar with J-STD-001, preferred
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Good mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
  • Good hand/eye coordination and eyesight
  • Ability and willingness to work on solitary tasks for long periods of time with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, preferred
  • Ability to handle changing priorities
  • High level of respect for workplace safety
  • Must be a US Person as defined by ITAR
  • Must be 18 years older to work in a Manufacturing Environment
